Ditron Dental USA

Welcome to a World of Precision

Ditron Dental USA is the first of its kind doctor-driven, and doctor-owned dental implant company. Built with a world class Clinical Advisory Board of thought leaders, industry pioneers, and expert clinicians, and led by internationally renowned Oral Surgeon
Dr. Ole T. Jensen DDS MS.

About the Company

Ditron has been a global leader for over 50 years in the design and production of precision parts for the automotive and aerospace industries. The state-of-the-art technology ensures micron-level accuracies are documented within zero PPM (zero defects per million parts).

This precision is available to dental implantology, delivering our clinicians the same confidence and consistently predictable results that NASA, Formula One, and other high performing industries have known for years.

Ditron's mission is to empower their clinicians with products that deliver consistent long-term success, are easy to use, and backed by over 50 years of global precision research.

Ditron's previous branding

Reset & Refresh

When joining the Ditron team, my main role was to assist in rebranding the company's social media presence and overall aesthetic. I led my team to curate and schedule various types of media to post on social media (Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn).

Ditron's current branding

Why a change in tone?: Psychology of color

The main trajectory in rebranding Ditron's aesthetic was to shift towards a lighter, more airy feel to market their products to appeal to the 'new generation' of oral surgeons.  The branding was structured to reflect the innovative engineering and sleek design of Ditron's products.

Because blue conveys trust, honesty, and dependability, it helps to build customer loyalty and is often used for businesses where reliability is vital.

With this in mind, there was a strong emphasis to shift to a cooler-toned color palette, mainly blue and grey, along other muted colors.

As a possible consequence of frequent associations or even human evolution, colors evoke specific emotions, moods, and atmosphere to the viewer.  Color psychology can influence a person's thinking towards what they perceive.

Blue symbolizes security, trust, loyalty, and responsibility

Creating

Before my team and I designed social media assets it was important for me to zero in on the goals of what we wanted to achieve in our designs.  There were various questions that came with every design to address our branding as well as purpose and intentionality in the design.

Does this design properly showcase the product(s)?
Do the colors reflect a 'sleek & innovative' mood?
Is there consistency in use of the company logo, product images, etc.?

Because the designs were focused to showcase the details and functions of the products themselves, gradients with minimal shadows were used to highlight the product images.

Conclusion

Designing with Intention

With Ditron Dental USA being a smaller company/start-up, it was important to strategically outline the trajectory of the rebranding with intentionality behind each design decision with an end goal in mind.  Being able to lead my team in designing social media assets taught me a lot as this was my first professional position, so being able to build trust with my colleagues as well bring my ideas to life collaborating with both colleagues and higher-ups alike was a very rewarding experience!

Dental Implants!

Previous to this position, I have never worked in a medical-based company and I never imagined I would, but alas! The world works in mysterious ways. I learned so much about dental implants and the technologies and engineering needed to create these adequate hardwares. This opportunity was eye-opening and makes me want to venture into more medical-based companies in the future!
